Trek ABP Maintenance

Trek mountain bikes use Active Braking Pivot

trek abp nut — 23mm Trek ABP nut on a 2017 Top Fuel

Using a 23 mm socket to remove the ABP nut

Drive side nut removed

Removing the non-drive side nut

Seat stays and chain stays can now be split in two

Clean any dirt and apply grease

The grease will protect against water and help the washer stick for re-assembly

Put the washer back

Insert the non-drive side sleeve

Torque to 200 in-lb (22nm or 16 ft-lb)
